Clean and De-Grease
Kitchens, first of all, need a thorough cleaning before painting. We prepare the area by washing kitchen units using warm water. Then we use a suitable de-greaser as kitchens usually present high levels of grime build-up. Paying extra attention to areas around the stove, oven and counters is key. It’s also vital to clean anywhere that has dark stains or grease marks.
Mask, Tape and Sand
When using a paint sprayer, we drape plastic over doors. This prevents paint mist from travelling to other areas. Then we apply masking tape to all trim areas. Appliances, cabinets, and tables may need plastic sheeting or masking film. Finally, a canvas drop cloth covers the floor to complete preparation.
Ironmongery is then removed. Doors can remain on for hand painting, or removed for spraying. Units are then sanded with 180 grit sandpaper. Then filled, caulked, hoovered and wiped to remove dust.

A surface already painted in good, clean condition, will not require a primer. We prime unpainted wood, drywall and surfaces with old paint. Then we apply primer with a roller on large areas. We a brush on primer for areas too small for the roller.
Paint Choice, Colors and Lacquer
Eggshell or Stain wood are 2 popular choices for final coats. Clear lacquer may be applied for extra durability if required.
Colours will deepen and reach their full form when applied in two or three coats. We let the paint dry for a few hours where needed. Then we re-roll, re-brush and re-paint again for the best possible finish.
Finally, we replace the doors and ironmongery, leaving the kitchen ready for use.
